So you may not know this, but I schedule my blog posts weeks (that’s right, plural) in advance. That means that when something cool or fun happens in my life, my editorial calendar is already full and I hesitate to rearrange it for an update because then everything is thrown off. Sometimes I tell my friends “Oh, I’ll definitely blog about [insert awesome thing we’re doing here]” and then they ask me what happened, and I’m like “Yeah you’ll see that post in a week…or two.” That’s why I thought today I would give you an update on what’s been going on lately and include the most timely information on my adventures.
When I came home for winter break one of the first things I did was go to the Candlelight Carol Sing at the basilica in Newark. The basilica is absolutely breathtaking! The last time I was there was to receive an award when I was in high school so it was great to go back. The candlelight decorations were beautiful and the choir did a magnificent job.
The next notable event was a reunion with girls from my high school. I went to a small, all girls Catholic high school where everybody knew everybody by name (my graduating class size was 15) which makes it nice when we get together again. The reason for the gathering was that Bruna, an exchange student from Brazil, was in the states for a visit. We were incredibly excited to see her again!
I was also pleased to reconnect with Amber (she’s on the far right) who was on the tennis team with me. As I was talking with her I learned that she is an Instagram fashion sensation with over 16,000 followers! Be sure to take a look at her work.
My friends from TCNJ, Nina and Tina, and I decided that we would have a “reading party” where we would sit by the fire and read great books and have fabulous snacks. We did sit by the fire and Nina’s spread was quite delicious, but we didn’t read a single page! I don’t know why we ever thought we could hang out and not talk but now we know that reading will have to remain a solitary activity 🙂
Then of course there was Christmas.
