I couldn’t pick just one quote from the sixth book because these are both so stellar! I’ve touch upon these themes in previous posts (the fear of death, making mistakes) so I won’t say too much because I don’t wish to be repetitive. Basically, death is not something to be feared because it is not really the root of our fears; rather, it is being scared of what we do not know that puts us ill at ease. By recognizing this we can overcome the “fear of death” and make peace with the fact that we don’t know what is to come.
The absolute, most important thing that anyone can do when he or she is wrong is to admit it! Consequently this is the hardest action to take when you feel embarrassed or affronted from finding out that you were not indeed correct. The benefits of acknowledging your flawed thinking are to gain the respect of others and to allow the truth to be revealed (instead of your ego preventing it from coming to light). This is something I know I need to work on!
