I am so excited to be writing this post because this is the first time I’m going “out of office” from the blog to take an international trip with Joe!
When we got married in 2020 we weren’t able to go on our originally planned honeymoon. Instead, we got to go to the beautiful Mohonk Mountain House for our honeymoon and loved it so much that we visited a year later for our anniversary.
However, Joe and I have never gone on a trip longer than our four nights at Mohonk or flown on a plane together more than once (when Joe joined me for one leg of a work trip in Chicago), so you can say it’s a pretty big deal that we’re heading off together.
With all of the challenges that traveling during Covid presents, I am sure that there will be things that do not go according to plan on this trip. I’m trying my best to be grateful that we have the resources to travel and that this will hopefully be the first of many big adventures we go on together. After all, the best stories usually do come from things going wrong, so we’re almost guaranteed to come back with entertaining tales.
I’m most likely going to post some of what we do and see on Instagram in the moment (you can follow me here), but I will definitely do a recap of our best tips on the blog once we return.
We’ll be gone until after Independence Day (I am a little shocked that I allowed us to be anywhere other than the U.S. on my favorite holiday!) and I’ll get back to posting as soon as possible.
Any guesses where we ultimately decided to go?
