I really enjoy Christmas. Truly I do. It’s not my favorite holiday (that honor goes to the Fourth of July), but I am a fan of the season. In fact, a few days after Halloween I listened to some Christmas music. However I do believe that there is a line with regard to when the festivities can begin, and my dear friends, that line has been crossed.

This past weekend I went to the mall (I needed to replace my favorite white tee shirt because I put it in the laundry with my jeans and turned it blue…#oops) with my friend Tina and we were shocked and greatly upset to see that decorations were already up. Christmas music was playing. And Santa Claus was there. SANTA CLAUS! ON NOVEMBER 8th!
What is this madness? I understand that Christmas is the time when retailers really prosper and they have to capitalize on this time of year, but this is outrageous and going too far. There is no time to enjoy fall because we run right through it to the winter. Is it too much to ask that we all take a moment to breath and let the next season come when it will?
What do you think? Is Christmas coming too early?
