I started doing yoga in college and my first post on the topic is from 2016. In that post I described yoga as something for “granola eating hippies” before discovering I loved it too! Also in that first post, I highlighted Juliana of Boho Beautiful as my favorite yoga instructor.
In 2017 I got to take a live class with Juliana when she came to Queens and now, years and years later, I’ve found myself even more invested in what she creates.
My Favorite App
Juliana and her husband Mark created an app/website that you can subscribe to to get even more yoga content than when they put out on their YouTube channel. There are programs and calendars and great search functionality so you can find the exact class you’re looking for.
I signed up at the start of the year for a free month to do their 31 days of yoga exclusive yoga journey. As you know, I pride myself in being frugal, so I’d really need to see some benefits above and beyond what you can get for free on their YouTube channel to get me to pay.
Why I Love It
After the first month, I was completely hooked! There’s a few reasons for this – part of it is because of the features I described above for finding classes and part of it was the accountability I had to use it now that I was paying for it. I couldn’t let my dollars go to waste.
I’ve also really enjoyed the prenatal yoga classes and appreciate all of the coaching and modifications that are offered. There are still some premium programs that you can pay for within the app, but I’ve found there’s plenty for me to do with all of the classes in the normal subscription.
A Deal!
Right now they’re running a deal where you can get your first three months for $4.99/month before it goes to the normal $11.99/month. They also always have a 2 week free trial (like I mentioned, at the start of the year they offer a free month). I use a benefit from my company to reimburse me for the subscription instead of the typical gym membership that you can get reimbursed, so if your organization offers that, it’s something to consider!
The main takeaway here is that I wanted to share a great deal with you and encourage you to invest in your health/fitness in whatever way that looks like for you. I only regret not getting this app sooner because I didn’t want to pay for it, when in reality investing some money has been the best way to keep myself engaged!
