Happy summer! It’s wild to think that this is the last “season” for Joe and me to be a family of two since our baby is arriving in the autumn. We’re planning to soak up all the city has to offer and we were off to a great start this month.
We celebrated our friend Alex’s birthday with a delicious meal at Peking Duck House in Chinatown. It was a great place to go with a group and share many different dishes.
There is a Van Gogh exhibit on at the Met right now and I was excited to visit, despite having just been at the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam a few months before – what can I say? I’m art obsessed.
I went back to California for work in June, this time for the conclusion of a leadership program I participated in this year. It is a program at Google designed for people who want to continue to improve their skills of working with strategic customers and I took a lot away from the experience. I love any program that helps you to stop and reconsider the ways you work.
I got to have a few solo Alyssa dates in the Central Park this month which feeds my soul! Sometimes I picked up pizza, sometimes I brought a sandwich, and I always had a good book in tow.
Joe and I went to see the comedian Shane Gillis and had an awesome time.
I got to participate in a project at Google that required me to be in front of the camera (if you know me, you know I don’t shy away from the spotlight 😉). I can’t say much now about it, but I hope to be able to share more in the future. We’ll see how it goes!
A major highlight from this month was celebrating the wedding of our friends John and Christina. The wedding was a family affair and we had so much fun together on the dance floor.
