It should be no surprise that the majority of my recap for July is from our honeymoon! However, there were still other fun events that I want to update you on and share today.
I recently published my guides to London and Portugal, so you can check those out to see all of the photos and get the stories behind everywhere we visited.
Once we came back from our honeymoon, I spent a few days at home in New Jersey, then Mama came into the city to hang out with me and Joe. That first weekend I was back I also got together with Sheetal pretty much immediately so we could catch up and I could tell her everything about the honeymoon!
Pretty soon I was back to Maman’s and Joe and I enjoyed the sunset over the Hudson after watching it over the Thames and Tagus (I may be biased, but I still think New York’s in the best).
I went back to Jersey to see Ally since she was visiting with her family, and I also got to go to Carly’s new house and all of the progress she’s made on making it her home. When I came back to the city, I headed over to Queens to spend the day with Chrystalla and some of her friends. We had a great time together, despite being caught at an outdoor restaurant in a torrential downpour!
Christina and I got together for an excursion to the Met to see a few exhibits including one on Japanese fashion and another on color used in Greek and Roman sculpture.
I believe it’s a good practice to try and get out during the week so that I don’t feel like I’m waiting for the weekends to have fun. On a Tuesday night Joe and I went to a jazz performance at Riverside Park and then tried out a new to us diner and enjoyed some scrumptious apple pie.
Google hosted a summer event for all employees on Governor’s Island. It was my first time taking the ferry over and while I had fun, it was short lived because it was excruciatingly hot and a storm rolled in.
I got to attend a bridal shower with Mama for a family friend, which was very sweet. And speaking of brides, I got together with Austen for delicious sushi and much wedding talk!
I headed back to New Jersey to facilitate a course (I love getting to do sales training whenever it can fit into my schedule!) and then Mama and Papa came back into the city with me to visit the Google offices. I had so much fun showing them around and getting to share what my days look like!
I also got to see Nina at the end of the month for some pastries and park time – this was such an action packed month for travel, seeing friends, and going back and forth between New York and New Jersey.
How was your July? What were the highlights?
