Welcome to the February monthly recap! There was a lot to love about this month, and not just because it was Valentine’s day ❤️
Lots of thoughts about birth this month as my orchids bloomed and I went down to South Jersey to attend a baby shower for one of Joe’s cousins! It’s so exciting that the family is growing and they are expecting twin girls.
I got together with Austen and we had a fun day of breakfast, walking in the park (it was a miraculously warm day), and snapping photos.
The warm weather did not stay around for long – when we woke up the next day the city was blanketed in snow!
To celebrate Valentine’s day Joe created a love themed Met scavenger hunt. It was so much fun, and you can read all of the details here.
I spent more time in New Jersey this month because I went back to my alma mater, The College of New Jersey, to speak at the school of business about personal branding. You can check out this LinkedIn post for more info on what I discussed. It was so exciting to be able to give back to the school that set me on such a strong path in sales and I loved getting to hear from the students about how they are working on their personal brands.
While in Jersey I celebrated my mother’s birthday with my family. We got pizza and went bowling, and I’m happy to report that I scored the second best in the family.
One of the big events from this month was going to the Dominican Republic to celebrate Chrystalla’s bachelorette! It was surreal to travel internationally again, though I will admit that the covid rules for coming back to the US were challenging (having to get test results with a short turn around time, ambiguity of what tests are accepted in the country you’re flying out of). It was a great experience to spend time with her friends and exercise my travel muscles again.
I also went on some great dates this month – both with Joe and myself! Joe and I tried out a French restaurant that is on our old street. For some reason we never got around to it when we were living there, but oh my goodness it was so delicious. It’s called La Sirene and I definitely recommend checking it out.
The best solo date of the month was going to the newly opened Maman’s on the UWS to enjoy a croissant and tons of journaling. I picked up fruit and flowers for myself and it was a lovely Sunday to end the month.
What were you up to in February? Was it a lovely month?
