This was month two of our stay in Florida – and our last month! We’re headed back to New Jersey for some family events (wedding! baby shower! so much to celebrate) and then to make a game plan of where we are headed next. This month was spent enjoying the sunshine and checking out museums. I also was focused on hitting a big professional goal of mine for the year and am happy to report I did it in August!
We pretty much stopped going out to eat because of the covid cases in Florida, but here’s one shot from a famous Columbian restaurant in St Armands Circle.
The circus fun from last month continued with a performance at the historic Asolo theater on the Ringling property. The acts were phenomenal and I have an even greater appreciation for them given my attempts from last month (if you don’t know what I’m talking about, take a look at this post).
We’ve done all of our cooking at home, so we explored new markets. There is an Amish population in Sarasota and they run this amazing store!
We went back to the Ringling Museum and did the entire thing – art museum, historic home, and circus museum. You need hours at this place.
We took a day trip to Tampa and visited the Plant Museum. Henry Plant created a beautiful hotel to draw people to Florida so they would use the railroad he built. It was such a cool experience!
What were you up to in August?
