The past month has been a whirlwind! Things have not gone according to plan (more on that below…), but we did make it to Florida and have had a good first month.
We celebrated Independence Day in Jersey and I donned my usual navy and white polka dots for the occasion.
Moving down to Florida didn’t quite go as we expected – our new car was damaged and it’s been in the shop for a few weeks, so we ended up flying down and will retrieve it as soon as it’s ready! We’ve been lucky that there was another car available to use while we are down here in the meantime.
We joined my parents and grandmother for a few days of fun before they headed back up north. We visited a museum and gardens and enjoyed the beach.
Sarasota is home to the Ringling Brothers circus. There are tons of performers and resources here, including a conservatory for circus arts. I’ve taken an aerial silks class and a trapeze class. Both were a ton of fun, though I think I have a better shot of running away with the circus to be on the trapeze than the silks.
We’ve had a lot of tasty food while we’ve been here, including BBQ from Perry’s and tacos from Wicked Catina.
I visited the Sarasota Museum of Art and got to see a totally different style than what I’m accustomed to.
There’s been lots of time in the pool and enjoying the palm tress! It’s a totally different speed and lifestyle than the city and we’ve been soaking it up while we’re here.
How was your July? What else do you have planned for the summer?
