Wow, it’s been a while! If you checked out my blog post last week, you know that I have spent the last few months taking a break from blogging, redoing my site, and moving. There’s a lot to update you on, so I thought a round up of the last few months would be a great way to catch up. I’d love to hear about what you’ve been up to, so feel free to leave me a comment as well 🙂
We went to our first dinner out since lock down and it was so exciting! I was a little nervous, and we decided to walk instead of taking public transit, but all was well. And the meal was delicious.
I took a data science course with Harvard online and I was proud to receive my certificate. Google sponsors education (whether job related or personal), and I’ve loved taking advantage of that benefit.
We celebrated Easter at my parents’ house and Mama and I decorated the table with flowers from the yard – it’s a fun tradition we’ve started doing for each holiday and makes me appreciate all of the things we have growing in the yard.
I went back and forth between the city and NJ quite a bit because I love working from my parents’ house. Having the sunlight streaming in while I work is wonderful compared to the darkness of our city apartment.
We got vaccinated in Times Square! It was so cool because it was mostly Broadway workers running the site. There were show posters everywhere and all of the workers were wearing paraphernalia from the shows they were in. A very New York vaccination experience!
We did another virtual escape room with friends and we made it out!
The city was in full bloom as spring came. Joe and I did some more exploring in Central Park and visited the Conservatory Garden.
I visited the Met as much as possible, knowing that we were going to be moving out of the city in June. There really is nowhere better for me.
For Mother’s Day we visited The Natural History Museum. The ocean room was turned into a vaccination site and I thought it was so cute that they put a bandage on the whale. It was bizarre to think that only a few years ago I was at a gala in that room and now it is a vaccination site to fight against a global pandemic. That room has seen a lot.
Sheetal has a birthday celebration in Central Park and she made the cutest set up!
Mama and Austen helped me do a photoshoot for the blog! We went to Hoboken and Austen scouted out the best spots.
More beauty around the city.
A hot chocolate date with Sheetal on an unseasonably cold day.
We took a trip to Busch Gardens with the Coris and had so much fun! It’s a good thing I married into an amusement park family. I love going on coasters and that everyone participates!
We got a Tesla!!! This has been a dream of mine forever (you can see I test drove one back in 2015). Since we decided to move to Florida for a while we needed a vehicle and this was a no brainer. Her name is Atessa and I love her.
Since getting vaccinated we’ve been going back to restaurants more and I thought Joe looked so cute this night 🙂
I visited the Met Cloisters for the first time and enjoyed myself! The artwork is not really the time period I’m most interested in, but the environment was amazing.
We went out for a final dinner in the city to our favorite Italian place (Salumeria Rosi) and it was incredible, per usual.
Then it was time to move!! Thank goodness we had the Freitas Family Moving Company to help us.
It was fun to be in New Jersey to visit with friends and take a breath before hitting the road.
Those are the highlights from the last few months. It has been wonderful to get to see friends and family with less fear of getting sick and to engage in activities that I’ve missed!
What have you been up to lately?
