“After all, to the well-organized mind, death is but the next great adventure”
-Albus Dumbledore
There is no doubt that J. K. Rowling uses Albus Dumbledore’s closing remarks to clearly illustrate some of her most important messages. I greatly enjoy the above quote because I, like most humans, fear death. The unknown (and what is more unknown to us than what happens after we leave this earthly world?) is most always a source of vulnerability and fear. However, if our minds are “well-organized” then perhaps we can, if not greet death with open arms, than at least make peace with it and not live in dread of the inevitable day.
What are your feelings on the foreboding of death? What did Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone teach you?
