I’ve started thinking about how I am going to decorate my dorm room next year now that I’ll be living alone because of my CA job. Although I still have quite a lot to figure out, I embarked upon a quick DIY to get the ball rolling.
I received this desk lamp last summer before my freshman year. It certainly served it’s purpose, however the pink color really didn’t/doesn’t go with the look I want.

The first to go was the bottom piece for desk organization. I already have a desk organizer and I actually use the lamp for my bedside rather than desk. My father whipped out a huge hammer and easily removed that piece.

Next it was time to spray paint. I used a metallic spray paint from Krylon.

I put on two coats and then presto! A new gold lamp for my dorm room! It really goes with the look I want and I’ll certainly be able to use it after college as well.
